Imbalie Beauty, Placecol, Dream Nails, Perfect 10Serums are often the most common missing link in most women’s skin care routine.  A serum is a highly concentrated product designed to deliver powerful active ingredients deeper into the skin’s cell layers.

Your serum’s liquid consistency is usually thinner (mainly water-based and so are quickly absorbed) than your moisturiser.  Serums tend to be problem solving – they target:

–        fine lines,

–        pigmentation,

–        redness and sensitivity,

–        spots and even sagging.

How: For serums to work the best, they should be the product closest to your skin, after cleansing, exfoliating and toning you should apply your serum.  If you are using an anti-ageing serum also remember to apply it to your neck and upper chest area.  Remember your face extends all the way to your breasts.

When: You should be using a serum in the morning and evening.  It is recommended to use an anti-oxidant serum for daytime protection – remember we have to fight those free radicals.  In the evenings one should use a deeply nourishing serum, since our skin is repairing while we sleep.
