Acneic skin is the highest maintenance of all skin types. It will keep you under its control as long as you let it. It is time to take the control back into your own hands and win the battle against acne prone skin. Acneic skin differs from oily skin when: you are regularly experiencing breakouts. Breakouts that occur any time of the day, week, or month. Breakouts that are difficult to control, and you feel you have tried everything, to no avail. It is the additional presence of one thing that causes oily skin to become acneic skin: bacteria. Bacteria is on all our faces – good bacteria and bad bacteria.
Acne prone skin has oil production like oily skin, but when you combine both the oil and bacteria within the pore you get a pimple, or a cyst in worse cases. Most people with acne tend to over-wash their face, which strips away the “acid-mantle”, a thin protective barrier between your skin and everything around it. This weakens your skin’s immunity towards bacteria. Do not do this, because you will have more breakouts. Look for products that contain natural antibacterial properties and oil absorbing ones, as well.
